Did a fun blind tasting of 12-13 yrs this evening. The final rankings were posted in order. The 4RLE was 2019 and RR was batch 3. JD12 and 4RLE clearly separated themselves. Importantly all were enjoyable.

Landry Stakes small batch bourbon is now sold in Louisiana. Previously only in Texas, I think. It’s owned by a guy whose family is from New Iberia. I found a bottle at Champagnes in Lafayette yesterday and it is GOOD.

Good evening gentlemen. Starting with another blind.

Update: they finished in reverse order of the picture. I have done numerous blinds with FP and OWA over the years and they have gone back and forth. Today, the FP had a little more depth. They were both a step ahead of the Sib, but it was still enjoyable. At secondary prices, OWA would be the clear winner.

If you like Irish whiskey, buy what's left on shelves. Retail prices for several of the spots and redbreast have doubled.

2pd is a fresh crack of the latest release in the Iberian series. Thankfully this was at the original price point.

TBH I'm an amateur in the Irish world, but my local spot has redbreast 12 sitting on the shelves. I've thoughts about it.

RB 12 is a great entry into Irish. Green spot is as well. The RB12 cask strength is fantastic and still available for 100 or less. I haven't seen anything about big increases for those, at least not yet.

Blue spot used to be under 100 and is now almost 300. RB27 was 500 last year and is going to be close to a grand. RB21 was 250 and is approaching 500. The Kentucky oak redbreast went from 110 to over 200. It's ridiculous.
