Shortages? I guess I missed that part. Never mind my previous comment, there aren't any good bourbons at the Fresh Market in NO...

I think this thread is a shortage starter...

This thread reminded me to pack my Makers for the beach tomorrow...

Now only need to decide what cocktail to make. Mint Julep?

All you need is a good bottle of Bourbon (not Maker's), a rocks glass, and a King Cube.

Mint Juleps are good but I usually take mine with ice and a glass. Sometimes my father in law puts a splash of ginger ale, which isn't too bad.

The good bourbons are on a separate shelf at Fresh Market...I got an Elmer T Lee the day he passed away a few weeks ago...

Pretty sure there was Blantons, Woodford and others on that separate shelf...

Here's mine.. Sadly my Elmer honey hole (whole foods) was out... Got a few private selection bottles of Four Roses SB and Knob Creek SB Reserve coming from Knoxville in a few weeks. I've tasted a few of this stores Four Roses selectiosn and they were great. Haven't tried the private selection Knob Creek yet though.

How's that Johnny Drum Private Stock? Just looked it up and looks like one of KBD's products.

I opened the bottle of black maple hill. So far not a big fan. Hopefully it opens up

It'll probably open up a little, but in my experience, people usually either love or hate BMH. I'm one of the few lukewarm folks who enjoys it on the right occasion, but not all the time. I'm sure you could find someone to buy it from you though bc it's been in short supply for a while.

For $25 its not bad at all. Tastes like its got some rye in the mashbill. Lots of oak flavor too. It wont replace Elmer of ER10 for me but its not a bad alternative at that price point in the event of a "shortage".

Good to know. Luckily my local guys still have plenty of Elmer and ER10 around. One just got in 2 cases of the BMH and called me with that so I got a bottle for the heck of it. He's also got some WL Weller 12 year on the way on my request

What's everyone's thoughts on Jefferson's VSVO? Priced right at $50 a bottle?

I think it's very good at that price point in general. Just don't tell too many people or we may have another "shortage"

Jeffersons VOVSB? If so, there should still be plenty to go around.

I haven't yet. That is one I'd like to do. Although the damn internet is making the BTAC stock as infamous as Pappy and way too hard to get. One of my local guys is supposed to give me a nod when it looks like it's coming in so hopefully will get some this year.

Yea your right about BTAC getting way too popular. I'm hoping to snag the whole collection in the fall. Got several feelers out... last year it started hitting stores in early October
