Made some pizzas on the primo tonight, now time to finally crack open the calandros 4 roses

My usual place called and said they could get some Black Maple Hill Rye. Not really sure what the age statement is but from what I've found the ryes are better than the NAS bourbon which can be pretty inconsistent from what I've read. Has anyone tried any of the ryes? If so are they worth it?

I have bottles of Four Roses single barrel and small batch right now. I prefer the small batch.
Sipping on Bookers tonight, though.

I do love the 4r single barrel though. Bought a bottle at the distillery last month. I find it better with 1 ice cube. I prefer the small batch neat.

Anyone ever have Russels Reserve 6 yr rye? Got a bottle from the distillery last month. Good shite.

Black Maple Hill is now being produced out of Stein's Distillery in Oregon. It's a new bottle, a new price, and new "juice". I think it's running about $100 per and NAS.

I'm going to be staying at the Beau Rivage for a night next month. I highly doubt there is one, but do either the Beau Rivage or Hard Rock have a bar with a decent bourbon selection? I'm going to bring a couple bottles with me but that won't do me much good when the group I'm with decides to go out. It would be cool if there was some place laid back to hang out. Would be even better if they had a good whiskey menu.

How is that OESK barrel strength? I have the calandro's OBSV 100 proof and it's very good.

I prefer the 100 proof OBSV, surprisingly

I have not been able to find Rock Hill Farms or Weller 12 anywhere in Baton Rouge. I have been to all of the obvious spots except Cubans. Does anyone know where to find it or if I should even expect to find it?

Both are hard to come by lately. I haven't seen either in a while but haven't been looking particularly hard

Has the Pappy hysteria trickled down to the Weller 12 and OWA?
