Looks like Rouses is trying to get in on Pappy and BTAC next year.

I think you're probably right.

My store ordered all kinds of BT stuff this year after a few people requested pappy and they couldn't get any. I like their efforts to please their customers. I let them know that it didn't go unnoticed and that even though they were a little more than the big shop I'm town, they now have all my business with that kind of service.

And Wtf is going on with the tigers. Lights out last week and day old shite today. No wonder we all drink copious amounts of bourbon.

ER10 was the first bourbon I bought after graduating from jack n coke.

Love it. Can't wait to try ER17 eventually

Your booze budget is ridiculous!

lol. I drank many nights thinking Crown was good! I wish I'd been introduced to EC12 years ago. Although, if I had been, I'd probably be a full blown alcoholic by now. I'm ok with the self proclaimed 'functioning alcoholic' title I hold today.

It has been a hell of a night. I went to the Jack Rose Dining Saloon in D.C.

1. Willet Family Estate 11 year (Toddys)
2. William Larue Weller '13
3. Buffalo Trace single oak project (barrel 17)
4. Four Roses 125th
5. Willet Family Estate 16 year
6. Willet Family Estate 18 year
7. E.H. Taylor Tornado
8. Eagle Rare 17 '13

All were 1 once pours. All 8 pours, burger, duck fat fried fries, tax and tip = about $150. A lot of money but I would do it again. Every single pour was absolutely great. This year's ER17 is the best 17 I've had. The Willet 18 was a standout in the group. The weakest of the group were the single oak barrel #17 and the 4R 125 but I would buy a bottle of either in a second if I could find it.

Expensive, sure. But that's a great menu (food sounds great, too!). You did good! Awesome lineup!

How did the Tornado compare?

Very, very smooth. A good bit of vanilla on the palate with a touch of spice at the end. I'm now going to try and find a bottle.

That does sound like a tasty lineup!

I have used 4 roses SB for my old fashions in the past.

I'm starting the day off with an old fashion too...old fashion coffee

Had a Van Winkle 12 Lot B last night at Superior Seafood, always forget how clean it finishes, and nice to sample for $12...

Looks like most of the Pappy has come and gone in Jackson (the little that was there) and much of the BTAC has also come and gone. Luckily those 3 bottles in the middle of the picture are a decent consolation prize for now...
