Several stores I have been in were pushing these brands and had opened bottles for tasting. They tasted watered down, age lacking. Texas bourbon is very new and maybe over the next 5 yrs things will improve but I am not willing to pay $75 for what i thought was poor bourbon.

3 bottles at $30 that are staples in my cabinet are: Elijah Craig 12, Eagle Rare 10, Elmer Lee

Pretty hard to beat those 3 but I'd switch out ER10 for Weller 12.

I'm able to get good prices at the BX, which is how I got a handle of crown for 32...
I'll take a long look around the BX for the mentioned bottles next time I'm there.
