I'll be picking some up. It has done well at all the spirit competitions and all reviews I have seen on it have been good.

Didn't Benchmark score high in the same spirit competitions?

Don't think Benchmark participated in the San Francisco World Spirits Competition which is the one I was referencing. The Crown Barrel Select recieved a double gold, the highest grade FWIW. Others to recieve double gold included Thomas Handy and George Dickel. Woodford Rye got a Bronze

The store I was in had a big display with about 30 bottles. The guy told me I better grab one because they would be gone tomorrow. I told him yea probably about the same way with that Crown Maple right beside it.

No but I frequent those places quite often and I remember seeing it there.

You can't just show up in November and be like...

I was back in the store today that had all the single barrel Crown. The reason they had so many bottles I found out was because they bought the whole barrel. It was sitting with the display. They were the only location selling that barrel. It was $54 per bottle.

Jack Daniels is coming out with single barrel cask strength. Due to come out in August. That's interesting. I've often wondered what a higher proof JD would taste like. I think I have to try this one suprisingly enough.

Anyone know of any extra aged JD bottles or for that matter have ever seen an age stated bottle?

It's ready when it's ready, I know.

I may visit 2 or 3 local stores per week during my lunch break. I enjoy getting lunch at Calandro's, Alexanders, and now Leblanc's Frais Marche. I do walk over to the liquor department to see what they have while I am there. I am cursed with high intelligence and a fantastic memory. I'm not writing this stuff down.

There is a sight for Jack Daniels on the FB. If they don't have it then it doesn't exist.
