I've had it...pretty good sipping whiskey.
The father in law got me a bottle of Willet...good stuff.
The Texas 1835 I had gotten from Specs is ok, more for mixing in my opinion.

Opened an EH Taylor Single Barrel this evening that was given to me by a friend. Served on ice, the smell is light and with a hint of vanilla. The taste is superb... Very easy to drink at 100 proof with no burn. Worth a try for sure...

JackD...when you can spring for it, take advantage..it's the closest thing I've had to Pappy...
Speaking of, did you happen to see if Philippe's had sold that Pappy 23 they had? Think it was going for $600...not buying it, just curious...

I know... I might go back and get it tomorrow.
The guy there was telling me that the PVW 23 was going for 600+.... I laughed

I got a bottle of PVW 23 and a bottle of PVW 15 and it ONLY set me back $528.00. I think this is the last year for me until it comes out of the stratosphere. I felt obligated to purchase it because my liquor store owner always calls me when she gets something special in. She showed me her list and it had about 75 names on it. I figured what the hell she set aside for me no reason to piss her off.

Damn, that's still a frick ton of $$ for bourbon.

No doubt. There is still a bottle of Hirsch 16 on the shelf for about 450.00. I think it is better than the PVW. She used to get it all the time and I would buy it at about $60.00. It was when I was just really getting into bourbon. I probably drank 8 bottles before I started doing some research. By the time I figured out what I was drinking on a regular basis was unavailable everywhere she had sold out. She got in a couple bottles and I couldn't pull the trigger on something I used to get for $60.00 no matter how good.

Could have sworn I saw a bottle of PVW 20 at Calandro's this morning. And maybe a bottle of Old Rip Van Winkle.
Should have bought it, maybe, because it would have lasted me the rest of my life. That's how often I drink bourbon.

I just called to check. I asked if they had any in stock and the girl laughed and said "No, do you?!".

i picked up a bottle of Jefferson Reserve. Never had it before; looking forward to trying it tonight.

I went ahead and picked up the 1792. I looked back through the thread and saw that someone uses it as a mixer. Is that the consensus or is it pretty good?
I also got a bottle of this. I know a lot of people probably do not like it, but I think I could go through a bottle a day.

Perkins?
Well, then they had fake bottles out or something. I have no idea what the packaging looks like, so I could have easily been fooled.
sorry to get your hopes up.
