quote:you can try wine-searcher. Input your state and search for various things and it will tell you if the store ships to LA. Some do. I've had bottles delivered to Metairie before. Prices usually aren't great and shipping is prohibitive unless you order multiples. No stores ship to Texas it seems because of laws.
any good online sites to buy whiskey that ship to Louisiana? I'm new to the whiskey scene, but am completely consumed by it at the moment

I purchased some Blanton's Gold from the whisky exchange. They're based in the UK but shipping was surprisingly fast. I normally don't buy online, but I wanted to give the gold a try.

Lafayette..... I have found some nice stuff....but was just wondering if you could just buy stuff that i want if its not readily availble.... like Michter's American or Henry McKenna 10 year

The problem is the shipping into Louisiana...and anywhere really. The ATC cracked down on it...not sure if it made much of a change or not. I have some things but its just some run of the mill stuff most of the time. I did just do a barrel pic of Russels Reserve and I believe I still have a cpl left if your interested. I plan to get more barrels as well. I'm in broussard you can email me at info at cajuntreats dot com.

You for sure can, but you will be paying more than it's worth. If you're cool with that, no judgement from me...but IMO it's much more worthwhile to spend your money on solid store pick SiB than unicorn bottles.
If you havn't already, join Louisiana Bourbon Collective on facebook. People are always releasing info on when a new store pick is dropping or when something is available on shelves.

Has anyone been lucky enough to try George T Stagg BTAC? I finally found a bottle at a store but they want $500. Seems very high. Is it worth the hype?
Posted on 1/21/20 at 7:52 pm to ABucks11
I would not pay more than retail for any BTAC, $99-$125. That said many people are willing to pay considerably more than retail.
Plenty of places have it to try. Ave Pub usually has several BTAC bottles.

GTS runs a close 2nd to WLW for one of my all time favs. IDK that I’d pay 500 for it but it’s really good hooch.

I paid $150 for my GTS this year.... its damn solid and may be my fav of all time but $150 is where I would top out .. it's good, but not $500 good

The low proof one was this years right? I was wondering how it would fair. Didn’t get any this year.
Posted on 1/21/20 at 9:46 pm to NOLAGT
Correct...I've only snagged 2 bottles...this year and last..I'd slightly prefer last years higher proof, but this year is still very solid.

That is one thing that draws me in is the high proofs
Posted on 1/21/20 at 10:35 pm to NOLAGT
Me too!! Despite a lower proof it's still VERY full flavored. Slightly more approachable without sacrificing that deep heat too much

What would the hordes thoughts be on 1792 full proof for my next barrel? Reasonably priced high proof hooch that me and a few baws select...maybe directly at the distillery.
