Has anyone tried the Rhetoric 25 yet?
That stuff starts off very harsh but mellows nicely after an ice ball. It would be a very difficult drink neat.

I think Acquistapaces still has a 24 if that interests you.
Pretty sure I know the “honey hole” you got those two 25s. He had the W12 for $80
they did have some Parker cask or whatever for like $190.

Yup, Acquistapace. They didn’t have Weller 12, or I would have grabbed one (maybe not at $80).
I’ve only been there twice. Once on Thanksgiving, found Ky Owl 2, and yesterday, found the Rhet25. My BIL thinks I’m good luck because they never have anything when he goes by himself

I’m pretty sure $180 is about the retail price for batch 2. I believe Martins has some (or at least they did recently).

Yes, $180 is stiff. Even the $130 I paid seemed a little high, but once I tried it, I wish I would have grabbed both bottles.

What’s your OF recipe? I have been using gum syrup instead of simple syrup. That HW double rye makes a damn good OF. I also like Weller SR for OFs

About 1tsp symple syrup, 3 dashes Angostura bitters, 3 dashes Reagans Orange bitters, 2 oz Whisky of your choice. I prefer the HW as my favorite but BT and OGD Bonded are nice for a change of pace. Fill nixing glass with ice stir for a minute, strain over one big ice cube in rocks glass, garnish with orange peel and Luxardo Cherry.

Peeled it with this, it will do about any garnish you need for cocktails as well as strain and muddle 14 bucks on Amazon.
