Which stores do harder to get bottles usually appear? I’d be looking mostly Heights, Midtown, Montrose, or heading out towards Woodlands. Feel free to not answer if you don’t want to hurt your opportunity to get stuff.

I generally just grab bourbon at Spec’s but there’s never hard to find stuff on the shelf.

If you're on facebook, search for the Houston Bourbon Society. Group members are constantly searching around town for bottles arriving, will post and start the stampede. While Spec's is a good place to find a bunch of stuff, allocated items go to customers with more loyalty points. Unless you're spending all your alcohol money there, you may not be getting the calls for the good stuff.

I got lucky at Goody Goody on Hwy 6 once. But mostly I'm out the loop.

There is a thread on what bourbon for and OF. I said use rye. Its good especially in OF and Manhattans. There are better options for neat drinking though.
