I've got a bottle of that Knob Creek Cask Strength Rye that I haven't opened yet. Actually planning on opening it next time I have the guys over for a tasting. How was it?

Been on the sidelines the last few weeks battling some wicked acid reflux. Getting back in action!

I need some recommendations for a scotch for making rusty nails.

Might be blasphemy, but I had a rusty nail a while back with Yamazaki 12 which was great.

I’m sure there are better options though

I'm headed to a family reunion this weekend. My pops likes rusty nails, and my son in law has never tried scotch. I like scotch straight, but I have not tried any quality scotch. I used to drink Chivas Regal on occasion years ago. Basically, I'm looking for something good enough for novices to enjoy straight but that also pair well with Drambuie. I like smokey whiskeys.

I've seen that the Japanese are producing some good scotch and bourbon now days. Is this brand fairly easy to find? I just googled. Looks a bit pricey for me.

I don’t know scotches, but do you have a price point?

Somewhere between 30 and 60 bucks seems reasonable for what I am looking for.
