Glenfiddich 15 or Glenmorangie Nectar d’or would be a good place to start. Both are easy to find and liked by most. Unless you’re pretty sure you would be into the real smoky/peaty scotches, stay away from the Islays for now. If you’re willing to venture off into that direction, it’s really hard to beat the Kilchoman Machir Bay for the price.

Why not explore more Irish Whiskey like Yellow Spot, Bushmills 16, Writer's Tears, or Teeling Single Malt? Then try a Lowland Scotch and a Speyside

Going to Louisville the first weekend of April and have one day to visit distilleries. Recommendations from here brought me to Mint Julep Experience and we booked a suburban for the day. This is how our day looks...

They are going to be able to get us to the 4 Rose tasting room and gift shop while skipping the tour, which is great. The lady setting up our stuff said that Jeptha creed is a recent startup with bourbon that is young. She said the rye is really, really good and the master distiller will bring us in a private tasting room with a barrel and pull directly from it for tastings...

Been off the brown for the better part of the last 2 weeks due to some meds. Time to get back in the groove.

And I'm sure you'll be in bed after the ECBP. Solid lineup there.

I did not think I wold like a blend like this but it’s excellent. I do think it needs a cube or a bit of water.

Can you say where you are getting to pick barrels from this year?

We're doing a Makers Mark Private Stock and a KC Rye while we're there

Many many more barrels coming this year throughout the year though

Think we are getting our Jefferson's Wheated barrel we picked a few months ago, next week
