That's possibly the most truthful post you've ever made

Why are y'all allowing people to buy up to 5 tickets this year?

This is dumb. If y'all want to raise money for cancer, sell tickets for $50 each, one per person, maybe it will thin the herd, stop people from coming from all over.

Or sell $5 tickets, each bottle has its own box. People put their ticket into what ever box they want. You can buy a ticket for all 27 bottles for $100

So in the past at the raffle, certain people in the crowd might have chantted "WHERE DA PAPPIEZZZZ!!???!??!?" and "WE WANT DA PAPPIEZZZZ!!!!" in a humorous, drunken type of way when bottles other than Pappy were drawn. Such previous behavior might be the reason while some people in the crowd are looked down upon...

Raising money for charity is dumb?

Also, you may buy 5 tickets, and the person behind you may buy one. Increasing your chances. So the more money you give to charity, the better chance you have to win

Win, win

So if you think this is dumb, I'm sorry

Dumb would be, to me, stores making a list of customers to give bottles to just because they come in and ask everyday or jacking the prices up and just putting it on the shelf

say baw, are you going to be giving out receipts for these donations? It is reaching the level now where I might want to write it off on my taxes.

Thanks.

Your store, your choice of how to handle things. You provide a way for a large number of people to get a chance to purchase a hard to find bottles, while also providing money to charity. I don't understand why people get so bent out of shape one way or another. People should go to the raffle not expecting to win and if you do even better...

i said the same thing last year

work on a system to benefit those patrons that support you all year

you are losing good customers, those that used to shop your store for food and groceries all year, over this raffle

they come to this raffle and see a blue hair win a coveted bottle. then you talk to the blue hair and find out that they live on the northshore and make it to the raffle every year, but that is the only time they come and never buy anything at the store.

something like you get an extra ticket in the hopper for every $500 that you spend at the store during the year
