Start with some Speyside styles, Glenlivet and Balvenie are good examples, they tend to be sweeter and fruitier. Probably closer to Bourbon than most other styles.

thinks thats part of my problem, I don't want it to taste like bourbon
I want to enjoy that smoke/peat but I just can't do it

I have a couple different bottles of Balvenie but just cant pull if tigger on anything else without a taste

I could throw a few things into sample bottles for you, I don't have anything too crazy. Lagavulin would be the peatiest/smokiest I got.

Late pour: the final horse is in the barn

And Elio's did a great job with this pick

Man it's been slow in here.

Anyway I think I've given up finding a bottle of Blanton's bottled on the day of my twins birth. I've turned my attention to getting a customised Glenlivet 21 bottle from the distillery. A few of the scotch distilleries do this but won't ship to the U.S., anyone have a good idea on how to get around this or live in Canada/Europe?

My guess is whiskey in the summer is not a first choice. I'm trying Kentucky Mules.

Local store said this Blade and Bow is hard to come by so I bought a couple of bottles. Can anyone tell me what they know?

Burg, sorry to hear the Blanton's search didn't work out. The Glen process sounds like it isn't a cake walk either.

Just a thought...what about trying to get a Blanton's Gold or STFB from their birth year? Would have to import but you'd hang onto it longer for obvious reasons...look into it. I'm sure other fellas around here can lend advice.

LPD after an ECBP is an Elio's BT selection.

More often than not, I love these picks...and they're all pretty cheap. Elio's is also doing an ER10 pick & a Blanton's pick which I can vouch for.

Jack, I hadn't had the Blade & Bow yet. They were claiming Stitzel-Weller juice in some capacity so I was skeptical whether it was legit or not. Tell us how it is...

What was the date? I have a bottle or two...may luck out

As for the other thing im not sure...maybe try masters of malt website and see if they can get it for you becasue I believe they ship to the US. They may also have the other versions of blantons with the date you seek.

Is that just the regular Blade and Bow?

I finished a bottle a few weeks ago. I enjoyed it - that's really all I can say. Too early in my bourbon journey to give you flavor descriptions other than that.

I thought I had a bottle with your date but I just got home and saw that it's 4/21/2017. So close. Best of luck with your search. If I come across one, I'll def pick it up for you.
