How do most of you drink full proofs? Neat, ice, or a splash of water in it? I am a novice with the high proof stuff

I either cut with a tiny splash of water or put it in an ice ball and watch that sucker melt. Many of those high proofers like ECBP get really interesting as they go from 130 proof down to 100.

We were up in Montana last week bird hunting. We drank all the ok bottles I brought and were down to an old bottle Wellee 12. 2 of the guides wanted to hit the local watering hole and then go scout for deer. We drove around on backroads and 2 tracks taking pulls from the Weller, it made for a great night.

I tasted it along with Jeff’s barrel pick of the Garrison Bros. Both were delicious but the Garrison Bros blew it out the water. But it also is priced as such. The Dickel pick had a tremendous sweet caramel corn flavor to me. My first impression when I took a sip was that it stood out with a sweetness that was very pleasing. For the record I have never bought a bad Martin’s barrel pick from Metairie. I know a lot of the bottles are same at every Martin’s store but I’m batting 100 in Metairie with barrel picks. Had I not bought the Garrison Bros. bottle I would have gotten the Dickel. I’m at the point now where I have so many bottles that I’m strictly getting either unicorns or high proof barrel picks. Well that’s the plan atleast.

I’m strictly neat. I like to get the full effect of the flavor. If anything I will take the smallest cube of ice I can find. But neat is my preferred method.

Just seeing this. I went over there to grab their EC94 pick but they were already sold out. Grabbed the Dickel as they said it does not have the classic Dickel vitamin taste.

Dang they sold out of the Ec pick that fast? I just saw Jeff's instagram pic.
I tried that Martin's Dickel pick and agree it was better than most Dickel. I bought a bottle. And that Garrison was really good but $130 is steep.

I only stopped by because I saw that pic. Was passing by almost right when he posted it. They also had the four roses small batch select which I’ve never seen here, but he said his pick was better

That Springbank 10 is not bad but it’s not in the same league as the 12 cask Strength.
