The thread of the taco stand had me thinking. For fun, which NO restaurants have opened and are still open in BR?

Which ones have closed, whether a short run or a long run?

Add to the list:

NO in BR who made it:

Popeyes
Dragos (currently a short time)
Atomic Burger
Acme
Zea
Lucky Dog cart
Ruby Slipper
Velvet Cactus
Ruth’s Chris
Copeland’s Cheesecake Bistro
The Bulldog
Velvet Cactus
Fat Boys

NO in BR who are gone:

Bud’s Broiler (twice)
Galatoire’s
Lee’s
The Ground Pat’i
Mandinas
District Donuts
Vincent’s
El Charro
Cooeland’s
The Rum House

List Updated to include posters’ responses

Is ruby slipper still operating near Trader Joe’s?

Atomic Burger is still going strong on Burbank, but it’s only been a few years.

Bud’s Broiler had two brief stints, but I think both failed more due to issues with corporate vs franchisers than with customer retention.

Lucky dog has been operating a cart on third street recently and is clutch AF.

Zea’s has been at Town Centre for a long time.

Was after Katrina for a few years.

Had about $200 in gift certificates we never got to use.

Mandina's came and went after Katrina, but I don't think it was ever supposed to be permanent.

District Donuts closed, but that may have had more to do with the shopping center they are in. (A building is getting torn down to build nice apartments. Five Guys needed to move and they’re going into the District Donuts spot)
Mandina’s was open for a little while post Katrina.

Mandina's was at Jefferson Hwy and Old Hammond Hwy, where Velvet Cactus is now. So I guess you can count Velvet Cactus too?

Copeland’s has closed but there’s still a Copeland’s Cheesecake Bistro.
Is Another Broken Egg a New Orleans area spot? Thought they were based out of the Northshore.

Wasn’t there a restaurant called LaLou in the spot where velvet cactus is now?

The Bulldog killed it when they first came to town 10+ years ago. They’ve cooled off, due to competition like Mid City Beer Garden
