ETA: You'll leave saying "that was a good value, & im full".
You wont leave and say "damn their meatloaf is better than Herbsaint's" (or maybe you will).
im not trying to overly pimp the place here. It is what it is

And the clientele is just as old.
tomorrow's specials are meatballs or italian sausage w/ spaghetti, paneed chicken w/ parsley potatoes, and liver & onions w/ creamed potatoes. may have to hit that up.

I'm pretty sure my grandfather used to love Red Wagon (from what I've heard). Sounds like it was just his kind of place.
I also didn't find my one visit spectacular but I'll be giving them another try next week.

Red Wagon is legit. Their White Beans are pretty good. Just past Harahan in River Ridge, there a couple of pretty good spots. Mr. Poboy and Jalapenos are not bad and then there's Taste Of Tokyo for killer sushi

Red Wagon is good. I enjoy Bobby's Seafood as well.

Hillbilly BBQ is great and kicks the arse of every BBQ place in New Orleans.
