You can make everclear taste like bourbon if you have a nose for it.
By diluting it with water and adding salt? I think not
The end result of that is salty weak everclear, you can not add the ethers and oils back to the mix by adding water and salt silly

No idiot.
The salt cuts the bitterness. You can whatever oils and flavorings you would like.

At this point I am out, I'm sure you are correct and it should turn out much better than before.

Why not just make your own
This probably sums up the answer

You would need a container to work the mash in, some copper roof flashing to make the cooker, a little copper tubing to make the coil.
Try to avoid lead solder and the use of radiators

I don't hunt, but a good friend of mine does, and one of his hunting buddies does a few batches a year. Flavored shine, cherry, grape, cotton candy, etc.
Put a bit in a cup with some ice, within 2 minutes the outside of the cup is frozen.
Good, good stuff.
Last year the hunting buddy got busted for some bad stuff with underage kids and is serving 20 years in jail. No more shine.

I haven't had any in years. Had one source that used to sell the flavored stuff. It was good, but obviously cu with the flavoring - still strong though. It was $20/gallon if I recall. But the best was from a guy in Mississippi who grew Bing cherries on his farm. He fermented them to make the moonshine, and the bottom of the jug had an inch or two of shrunken cherries on the bottom. This stuff would knock you on your arse but had a nice natural flavor as well. He wouldn't sell it, but if you did him a favor or went out of your way for him he would give you a jug.
