Coming in for the Arky game with some friends who’ve never been to BR.
Been a while since I’ve gone out in BR, we’re all in our mid-30’s. Where should we go? Ideally with good drinks and music.

Friday night has a couple of good music shows
Future birds at Chelsea’s
Better than Ezra at lauberge
For bars, Ivars, zee zee’s, Bier house, or pelican to mars. Can’t guarantee music at those places

May not be good but it’s all BR has to offer the OP

For cocktails I would suggest Hayride Scandal. During the summer I know live music was playing on Saturday nights and I do not believe they were happening on Friday nights. The music inside pairs with the "swanky" atmosphere that's provided with the lighting and furniture. Radio Bar is also a fun atmosphere. Drove by the old Happy's (now O'Hara's) on Friday night and there was a live band, but I couldn't tell you if they were good or not since the acoustics are awful from outside.
If you REALLY want to go to Fred's, Pants Party will be playing after the game.

Eat at the bar in Mike Anderson’s then go to Fred’s.

Your best bet is to find the music you want first. Drinks are almost everywhere you go.

My recommendations for this Friday:
Blues - Dale Harris Band @ Phil Brady's on Government
Country/Rock - Joey & The Jumper Cables @ On The Half Shell
Rock - Joel Cooper & Heath Ransonnet @ Fat Cat Saloon
Country/Swamp pop - T-Boy & Just Us @ Coop's on 621
Classic Rock - ReGeneration @ Icehouse Tap Room
80's Rock - Werewolf @ The Edge Bar at L'Auberge (free and better than Better Than Ezra IMO)
Soul/Rock - Jovin Webb @ Jack's Place (Jovin was on American Idol)
