A beer! Just a good old fashioned beer!
Don’t even consider America, and don’t even think about getting intricate.
Drink German. Drink Pilsner. Drink Warsteiner.
What a beer man’s beer.

I haven’t tried the pride of The Czech’s in probably eight years, but it’s about time I do.
Similar taste I’d assume?

Pilsner (also pilsener or simply pils) is a type of pale lager. It takes its name from the Bohemian city of Pilsen, where it was first produced in 1842. The world's first blond lager, the original Pilsner Urquell, is still produced there today.

They are different, imo.

Surely both are more complex than any American Pilsner. We add hops to everything assuming that masks the arse taste.

Pilsners are typically pretty hoppy. Just different hops. My go-to pilsner recipe uses 6 ounces in 5 gallons. Thats as much, if not more, than your typical American Pale Ale. I use all Saaz (as does Pilsner Urquell), which is a Noble hop with much lower alpha acids and a much earthier flavor.

A cold Lone Star on a hot , humid Houston afternoon goes down mighty easy.

Pilsner Urquell has a lot of hops in it. That's why it's the only pils worth a crap.
