I have reservations next week for the anniversary. The rack of lamb and quail dishes caught my eye initially.

What does the F&D Board suggest?

Pretty much everything there is excellent. For a main course, I'm partial to the Rock Dove. Yes, I appreciate that I'm telling you to eat pigeon at a nice restaurant.

The crab soup is a must

Veal or lamb chops

I forget the name but it is like a combo plate with crab Augratin in a pastry , a medallion of fillet and grilled shrimp

Pass on the soufflé, I was underwhelmed

Second the veal chop and rock dove, wife and I had those a few weeks ago. Lamb is always good.

I love that restaurant. I had wild boar chops last time we went. They were very good

Honestly, the best advice I can give you is the advice I give anyone going to a really good restaurant: Don't worry about the money, and enjoy the experience. It's no fun if you're going to pinch pennies. If it looks good, go for it. Split a few dishes with the SO so you can try more.

But if you do want to save a few bucks, if I recall correctly, their corking fee is only $15, so feel free to grab a nice bottle of wine at retail and shave off some of the sticker shock.

I agree - soufflé is unimpressive. All of their other desserts are top-notch though

I found the crab soup to have onions that were not soft enough. Crunch in my cream soup not impressive imo.
