First time there today with family around 2pm.
Took forever to get our food with only three other customers that came in after us. We got served last, bbq sandwich was cold, wife had loaded nachos with pulled pork. Chips were few and paper thin, hardly any cheese, cold pulled pork, no bbq sauce. The bootle of sauce at the table was so nasty you couldn’t use it.
Seemed like no one really cared, only employee was at the register and lost on her phone. Oh well…… nice place on the inside as far as the look of the place.

Went there in November of last year and it was about the same. We went for dinner. Almost no one there and it seemed like we were a bother being there. Food was cold and mediocre. Have never been back. Seems like a money pit and future empty space.

I realize it’s not top tier BBQ but I love to hang out at the shed in MS especially if there’s a band. The food there is more than edible and sometimes really good. I have no idea why the one in BR is so nasty but it is

Mississippi location is a good local place. Like you said, they aren’t fantastic but they are good enough to enjoy.

I’ve heard nothing but negative about the BR location.

Not surprising. The Lafayette/ Scott location didn't last very long at all

I didn’t particularly care for the food at the Mississippi location. The pork tasted a little too barn yardish for me.

It’s really difficult to do consistently solid BBQ away from Texas and the Carolinas.

The place is also gigantic with a large beach attached to it for volleyball.

No idea what the original people were thinking building it

Agreed. That place is never going to be anything.

It’s way to big and most people only see the beach volleyball so they will stay away if that doesn’t interest them.

Sammy Nagem dumping tons of money in to it was one of the (many) reasons he went under.

Should have built a pool next to the beach

Pats of Henderson
Shucks of Abbeville
Stinky fish camp of 30a
The Shed of Mississippi

All have tried Baton Rouge
All have/will fail

They should all stay at home and do what they do best. All destination restaurants

This is disappointing. I’ve only been twice but enjoyed it both times. Not the best but certainly serviceable and the price isn’t bad.

Spicy BBQ sauce is worth the price of admission

Best Eats is running a $29 for $50 promo for them. Even for $21 off, I can't seem to buy it based on what I've heard.

They just need to do pub grub for a place like that.

That may work, but it’s still such a weird place with a weird vibe for a restaurant. You have the restaurant in the front and it’s a relatively open high ceiling restaurant. Behind it is a huge garage with roll up doors, then off to the side is the volleyball.

Realistically they need to abandon the restaurant idea and put something else there. A sporting goods store or sports apparel store may do ok there.

I went for the first time back in March. The food was mediocre at best. I was disappointed at the food quality. Would not go back or recommend.
