Cheese ball- ( this is dear to my heart. One of the things my mother always made. She just passed last weekend)
One block of softened Philly cheese
1 Tbsp minced pimento
1 Tbsp finely minced green onion (add some of the tops if it's Christmas and you want a red/green look)
1 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce
1 tsp lemon juice
Cayenne and salt to taste
1 CUP of freshly grated cheddar ( the pre shredded has that additive on it to prevent sticking and I don't care for it here)
Chopped pecans
Mix all of first 6/7 ingredients. I like extra cayenne for family, but cut back if making for non Louisiana people.
Hand blend in the cheddar, form into a ball, wrap in plastic wrap and store in the fridge overnight.
Once it is set, roll and cover with pecans, taking time to press them into the cheese ball for a nice thicker coating.
I usually double this and make 2 at a time, and the amount of pimento, Worcestershire, onion, etc. are all very flexible to your preference.

I love cheese ball. I add some chopped up ham into it.

Wow.. sometimes I have to remind myself this board is still part of TD.com
Who's the arse that downvotes a recipe post remembering my mom who died less than a week ago?

Rude people who forget this is not the OT.
Sorry for your loss and thanks for sharing the recipe with us. I love cheese balls also and will try it.

Thank you very much.
I didn't post for pity. Someone asked for the recipe, and once I pulled it to type in here, I just had a real rush of emotional memories.
I pray everyone has a sweet, meaningful holiday season with their loved ones.

Your mother's memory will live on each time you make the cheese ball. It's great that you have the recipe. Thank you for sharing.
