For Beer Bulldog is my 2nd, however be aware they allow dogs there.
ETA: Midcity is got a better setup, but I like the uptown location with other bars and restaurants in walking distance.

Another thing I like about Ave. Pub is that Polly is very active with updates on Facebook. She puts stuff up several times a week about what is currently being tapped, what is new, when something is scheduled to arrive, etc.

I think the bartenders are jerks at Avenue Pub. But the selection is nice.

You know I hear that sometimes as well. I used to think the woman that ran J'anita's was a major count as well. I think the bartenders there deal with a fair amount of bs from people. So maybe that is the reason for the attitude.

I can guarantee you the bartenders on Bourbon deal w/ more shite and are way nicer than the ones at Avenue Pub.

I think that attitude comes down from up top. Really what bar / bartenders don't have to deal with BS. It's one of the only business where the customer is not always right. And Ave Pub customer base is not as bad as some places by far.

I've only had problems at Avenue Pub when they are really really crowded. Other than that the bartenders and owner have always been awesome.

I agree when it's crowded shite gets worse, but if you don't want to be bothered with crowds dont spend so much time using social media to attract crowds to your bar.

Polly has been nothing but nice to me on the numerous occasions i have met her. I kinda agree about the bartenders, especially the older women. They dont deal with crowds real well.

I swear to god Eileen is bipolar. One visit she's super sweet then the next she's quite curt and annoyed. Love the place though.

Agreed. But if one is patronizing establishments that use frosted mugs in the first place he/she may want to reevaluate their decisions.

The only place in BR with a decent selection that doesn't do this is the Chimes.
Have to request it everywhere else.

i find it funny that a place like the bulldog in br, which claims to be such a great beer bar serves beer in a frosted mug.
