What is one dish that you just absolutely can't cook?

I suck at frying and scrambling eggs. Completely horrible at it. I can cook damn near anything other than eggs. Don't know why that is.

What's the OT got?

Get a nonstick pan and a thin spatula for fried eggs.

Took me a while to get a roux down right without burning it every time or screwing it up.

Gumbo is actually one of the easiest things to cook once I got down the roux part.

Meatloaf, I love it but have never been able to cook a good one. I love meatloaf and mashed potatoes and meatloaf sandwiches with the leftovers.

ribs give me fits...they are either too damn tough, dried out, or have some other flaw. I no longer even try to cook them myself....if I want them, I just go to a restaurant.

You're probably letting them cook too long. That seems to be the issue for most folks who have issues with scrambled eggs.

Tried Baked Alaska once and that was an unmitigated disaster. I will say soufflés for me can be tough because I'm impatient as hell.

Get a nonstick skillet, melt butter in skillet over med heat, crack egg(s) in skillet, keep tilting skillet back and forth, keep eggs moving.

If you want them sunnyside up, just cook until they reach whatever doneness you prefer.

If you want them fried, wait until the egg white is solidified and gently but quickly flip with a spatula. Cook on the other side just a minute and it's done.

As for dishes I can't cook, I don't know of any. I've never been unable to cook something I tried to cook. Im sure there are dishes I just could not do if I tried though.

I have a hard time getting Asian dishes to turn out right. I can usually cook most recipes pretty well, but the several times I have tried Chinese and That it just hasn't had much flavor.

Fried shrimp. Either burn them or they don't cook right.

Growing up my mom would make beautiful scrambled eggs leaving a clean pan. I can't do it without leaving crust all over the place.

I microwave in a bowl for nice fluffy ones.

Turn your heat down and keep the eggs moving throughout cooking them.

I didn't learn to cook until I was in my late 20's after my divorce with my first wife. I moved in with my brother and all they ever do is eat fast food so I got desperate and taught myself how to cook with phone calls to my mom when I had questions.

Best thing I ever did was learn how to cook. Now my second wife is spoiled.

I suck at boiling crawfish.

I'll gladly pay someone to do it correctly for me.

Use medium heat or a little lower and cover the pan with foil so the top cooks as well as the bottom.
