I have done gumbo with my own roux.....best way I know. When short on time what your favorite one? I tried Cajun power in the jar....pretty good.

Done right, you can get a dark roux in 15-20 minutes. For that time, it isn't worth it to buy some. Trick is to get the oil smoking hot before adding flour.

The blue runner gumbo mix in the can is surprisingly pretty good.

Guidry's Gumbo mix. It's in a black bag. Hard to find in BR area, but seen it in several Lafayette area stores.

Kary's roux makes a "box" version; basically dry roux & dehydrated veggies. IVe had it before, never cooked it, & thought it was decent

Bailey's roux mix comes with everything you need (dehydrated seasonings, spices) except meat and makes a delicious gumbo. Add some bailey's andouille and you've got something
