Elijah Craig Small Batch is my go to right now. Very good. And only like $35.

If this guy is his wife's brother, that would be awkward.

By “really nice”, I suspect that you mean something in the $60+ range. That being the case, I could name off a lot of allocated stuff that you probably won’t be able to find. So, here’s a couple that are findable and sub-$100

- Jack Daniels barrel select, barrel proof.
- barrell bourbon: most of them, but dovetail and batch 21, 25 are special.

For special occasions or a gift I like to get bookers or Blantons though Blantons can be hard to find.

Depends on the kind of guy he is (and how much you want to spend).

Regular dude (aka baw) - Makers, Woodford, Buffalo Trace, Wild Turkey

Likes Authentic stuff - Michter's, Booker's, Basil Hayden's, Bulleit

Likes boutique stuff - Noah's Mill, Rowan's creek, Willett Pot Still, George T Stagg, Pappy

Elmer T Lee was my 1, 1a, 1b, and 1c

If you were an Elmer T Lee fan, then I beg you to try Old Elk if you haven't done so already

Go to Calandro's. They barrel pick an Elijah Craig that costs around $40-$60 a bottle. There are more expensive bourbons that you can buy, but the differences are too subtle for my palate and I've drank bourbon for ages.

Get the barrel pick Elijah Craig. It's really good!

Last bottle I gifted to a friend was Michter's. He enjoyed it.

Favorite bottle I've been gifted has been Rowan's Creek. I am not a huge bourbon drinker but I liked this a lot.
