They shut the one down by my home after the flood but I noticed they are pretty much all shut down now.

Weren’t these locations formerly Winn Dixie stores? WD took all of the low profit locations and made them into these terrible SV stores. And they mostly went belly up. I pass two empty ones during my daily commute.

There are still a few around, like one near my house. I kinda like shopping there. If you want cheap cuts of meat to cook low and slow, that’s the place to go. And they’re a good place to get whole cut up chicken, which is strangely hard to find. (If I’m barbecuing for a party, I’d rather cook a whole chicken cut up, cuz I don’t know if you like drumsticks or breasts or wings or thighs)

The only one open that I know of is in Metairie on Jefferson Hwy, near Causeway. At least they were still open about a month ago. They also stopped doing that charge of 10% markup at the register. I believe that was their downfall.

This was my favorite place to get whole briskets CHEAP.

He got ambitious and bought a bunch of old Winn Dixies. He tried to grow too big, too fast and unfortunately, it didn’t work out. Many of the stores are closed. The high earning ones are still open.

The two here in Lafayette are open.

Yeo, the one in Metairie is definitely still open.

The one in Walker shutdown. I used to go there all the time. The cashiers told me the square footage of that building was a bit bigger than most of the other stores and it was tough to keep the floor stocked. The one off Old Hammond always seems busy.
