like giving ppl nice salt, like flaky Maldon sea salt. Big shelled pecans are also a great gift.

I’ve used a couple, but my favorite and the one I’ve seen most recommended is in Escali Primo. Even though they’re cheaper ($20-30), they are accurate, quick, tactile buttons, AA batteries. Only downside is there’s not a pull out display. If that’s needed for bigger bowls/containers (bread making), I like the Oxo with Pull Out Display. Little more expensive, some delay in when turning it on/when things are put on it, but bigger display with a light if she’s older:

Gifting - My mom has gotten into drinking wine, but she's a frugal lady. I plan to get her a couple of nice bottles, an aerator, rubber corks with the air pump, etc. Maybe the Wine Folly book too.
If she doesn’t have them already, get her some really nice glasses.

yet another kitchen appliance to store
That's where I'm at. I just cleaned out my "handheld kitchen gadget" drawer and it looks just as full as before.

Homegoods usually has these for half price. I've bought some nordicware pumpkin molds before for like $12

I usually buy unsalted butter when I'm just buying regular stuff from the store. In the case of fancy French butters, do you still go unsalted?
I see they have all kinds - some infused with other flavors, even. And I see they have salted, unsalted, and semi-salted.
