What do your grill grates look like?

How well seasoned are they? I keep mine a little cleaner than I would if it's just me, because my wife is a neat freak and isn't as comfortable with a seasoned grate as I am.

It's just a 22" kettle, so it's not that difficult to clean. This great is only a few months old, fwiw...



I have a Slow n Sear under the Group Grate that is pretty nasty, but who cares?




I think this sucker is gonna last 20 years...

Not really sure what answers you’re looking for. I always hit my grates with a brush after I pull off the food and while it’s still hot. Everything comes right off and it only takes 20 seconds. My grates stay clean from that and I never give it a second thought.

I'm just curious about how most people clean their grills. We clean our pots and pans until they are spotless. We don't wash and scrub our grill grates. How clean is clean enough?

It’s just a visual. You’re heating that grill past the sterilization point every time that you use it.
