My daughter caught 32 big beam and 9 bass. Scaled, gutted and took the heads off the bream. Filleted the bass.

Louisiana Fish Fry, seasoned with an Abita Amber and having beer battered whole fish at the barn. Finally a night to get out albeit a bit warm, the breeze helps.

A good homemade coleslaw and a bunch of beer. I have a good brandy and she made a homemade key lime cake so that will finish a nice evening.

I had a hankering for crawfish after spending the best part of the day drinking beer and fixing up minor blemishes in the soon to be five year old crib that is about to go on the market.

I took off to pick some up at my top spot and was told via cellie that they had an hour wait as they were just boiling another batch, so I went to my second spot. I got to it and they must have had 50 folks lined up waiting for crawfish. I was out of my to-go bottle of beer at this point and had to make an unexpected stop for another batch as I'm headed to my third spot. At the third spot, I got to the bar to place my to go order and my old Faithful bartender tells me they just ran out of crawfish. My hankering hadn't subsided at this point, but grew to exponential demand. I then drove 20 miles to Hammond to pick up 15# of crawfish.

The place i went to was having a rally in the parking lot for the Ferguson locals and I decided to go inside well heeled even though I wasn't fit for driving much less heeling. EBT cards were a plenty and I gleefully paid for my large order with the appropriate means of feeding ones self and family. Crawfish is now gone, Junior has cried for 20 minutes because he tried to eat one whole, and the better half is questioning my sanity.

Beware the Ides of March.

I know what you mean. I hadn't had just a plain baked potato w/butter, salt & pepper in quite a while until tonight. 'Twas simple but good.

Wow, that sounds rather awesome. What a nice daughter! I kinda feel like a slug now. ... Actually, I thought about some fried fish today with the Spring-like weather. Hopefully, we'll get to do some fishing & catch enough to fry out of the Little Red River & Greers Ferry Lake in a couple of weeks for Easter in Arky. There are some nice trout up there, but I'd rather have the bass. I'll probably make a pineapple cream pie or 3 for my dad.
