Random question for my awesome friends of the food board...

Is one obligated to give a wedding gift to a family member getting married for the second time in three years? First marriage collapsed because he was lying, stealing scum, fyi.

If I'm invited to a wedding, I give a gift. I've never been in a situation in which I was invited by someone I don't like or think is a lying piece of scum, though. If family, I'd give the gift to avoid any fallout even if I held my nose while doing it. I don't want to be making any statements that would cause a family rift.

If the gift is for the lying, stealing scum I would say not really. If its for the one that was married to the lying, stealing scum I'd say yes since she probably doesn't have shite now anyway.

and I'm eating scrambled eggs.

I usually give a gift if I'm invited as well but I've just never been in this situation in my short life. She's family, not the scum. I initially felt I should send something so I went to search for a registry but can't find one so that got me wondering...

I rarely give gives from the registries, myself. I'd definitely give her one. I thought he was the family member. Sorry.

Try low roasting it on 225-250, no higher. I just learned this method and it comes out cooked through, very moist and maintains good color. I googled about it after I had it prepared from someone else and it's been great every time I've cooked it. I think you could sear it quickly and then slow roast if you want that seared effect.

Salmon will definitely supply some. Can't you take it in a vitamin also?

I didn't like salmon at all until I had it slow roasted. I think I just never had prepared well. I wouldn't order it in restaurants since I didn't like it. Now, I really love it. A roasted red bell pepper sauce is good on it. Just sweat some onions in a wee bit of olive oil, roast the peppers and prepare those, puree it all together and season with salt and pepper. I like white pepper. A little red wine vinegar gives it a kick as well.

I'm actually really relieved to see that your doctor is running vitamin d tests and pointing it out to you. I feel like some of my research may be making a difference after all. You're not alone. 75% of the u.s. is vitamin d deficient. Good for you for listening to his advice!
