As promised, here are the pictures from my French onion soup I made.

Starting to saute with butter, olive oil, thyme, sea salt, pepper, a pinch of sugar and bay leaf.


A little while after


Beef stock and red wine are added and I let it simmer for a good while


Serve up the soup with a few toasted baguettes and topped with a plentiful amount of Gruyère. Then, stick in the oven and broil for 5 minutes.

Makes me crave French onion soup. I get my onions a good bit darker, but it sure looks good.
