Rabbit with prunes in a stew is one of my favorite dishes. Look up Lapin aux pruneaux for a recipe. It's not a complicated dish.

You wouldn't know it was in the stew unless you saw it go in or I told you, I promise.

Well then why put it in?

Why not? I could make rabbit stew if I wanted it to be feature. It blends in the stew well and adds its own flavor. Brunswick stew is a hodge podge, each little bit makes its own contribution.

I have a friend that runs one of our two local Chinese restarants. His is Vietnamese. I need to see if he can make pho. He makes a lot of off menu stuff if he knows you. No way in hell to get pho otherwise here.

I had La Thai and it sucked. The food from Equator I had on Sunday was significantly better.

Crock pot coffee pulled pork (salt, pepper, cayenne, paprika, garlic salt, regular white sugar because I used all of theirs last week when I brined a chicken) because my parents' grill sucks:

Took the pork fat and remaining coffee, dumped it into skillet with mushrooms and diced onions. Think madiera-style mushrooms just pork fat/coffee instead:

Slaw to go with it. Reglar slaw, added carrots and sliced apple to offset the bitterness of the coffee flavor, used creole mustard/mayo/this stuff that is pretty much remoulade that my parents have in the fridge as the liquid (Surly Furious in the background shoutout to the FBD crew). Added diced/pickled jalepeno (a very small amount) for some spice. ETA: And blue cheese.

Mixed together for them sandwiches:

ETA: Coffee wasn't strong enough, should've used chickory flavored. Also it looks like google doesn't like me hotlinking to goole+ so I guess I'll have to upload them to imgur. ETAA: Fixed.

The can in the fridge says "CDM Coffee & Chicory" and my mom bought a coffee grinder and ground some beans last night. The coffee can is probably 8 years old though, should've known the coffee inside was ground Starbucks beans. Just not strong enough to give off the coffee flavor I was looking for, and you just don't get the same depth of flavor out of the crock pot that you do off the WSM (my preferred method). I tried to counteract by putting 8 tablespoons of coffee into a cup of water, so this household might be up late tonight.

ETA: I'm on my 3rd 16oz beer since 5 PM and I'm pretty jacked right now. I say a) FML b) profitable lunch idea?
