Has to have been at least 10 years since I've been there (service and food quality had declined and there were other options).

Anyway, I knew they had come under new ownership in the last few years so decided to give it a try last night.

We (wife, kids and I) all got seafood dishes. It was all very fresh and cooked well. Some of the items could have used a little more spice, but no clunkers by any stretch. Hush puppies as good as I remember. Service was excellent. Cheesecake for dessert was very good.

There was a decent crowd there (we went around 6 PM), but we did not have to wait for a table. Definitely will be back.

Every time I have gone in the past couple years I have been pretty satisfied. They have a nice lunch menu.

Idk if the FQ location is still open-was this Bluebonnet? I haven't been since my son had to do a restaurant review in the 6th Grade and he just graduated from HS. It was pretty bad, and with Lagnaippe right around the corner, and Sammys, Parrains, Tommy's and Acme close enough, it hasn't made it back onto the list.

Pretty sure it's turned it around recently with some changes. Heard good things.

had this last time i was at the fq location. Been awhile since ive visitted that one though.

Went to the one on bbonnet not that long ago (first time there in years). We all thought it was much better than previous visits. Nothing spectacular but it was on the level i expected from that type of place.

Say, the stuffed tiger in the lobby area in R&K.. I remember as a kid, there was signs saying it was one of the Mike's. But now, it seems like they wouldn't really wanna play that up.

Anybody know the real story?
