Went to Poor Boy Lloyd’s for lunch

Lived here for a while now and had never been. Had a meeting downtown and checked it out.
Oyster poboy was very good. I topped one half with some roast beef gravy and it was even better. Side of potato salad was solid. Better than the limp looking frozen fries.
I’ll admit their poboys are better than Jed’s even though I really want Jed’s to be the better place (location-wise for me).
I’m not a huge fan of ordering when you walk in. Especially with the jumbled menu they have and all the specials and such written on various boards.
Thoughts on Poor Boy Lloyd’s? Has to be TulaneLSU approved with a name like that.

I've never been either but I'm glad to hear it's good. It's shocking how few legitimate poboy places exist in Baton Rouge.

I used to go every now and then when I worked in Downtown BR. I liked it a lot, reminded me of the hole in the wall spots you find around Acadiana. I was a fan of the oyster and hot sausage poor boys (shout out TulaneLSU.)

Yeah, both my parents worked at the Advocate downtown for years before the kids screwed it up. Poor boy Lloyd's is a plateful of memories

PBL is a solid go to. Never had a bad meal there. Madhouse during the legislative session.
