Disappointed.

I didn't expect much to begin with.

The fish was actually chewy, which is weird. Fish isn't supposed to be chewy.

Also, the pickles were a little too pickley and tart.

I have to wonder who these focus groups are that say "yes, this is great, I would absolutely order this off the menu" before these large chains start rolling this stuff out.

If you want a fish sandwich from a drive-thru try Popeyes. It’s freaking good.

They probably don't care that much. They just know they have to put out a fish sandwich during Lent since they don't have one regularly.

It makes a lot more sense now. After making this topic, I took a deeper dive on google, I didn't realize all the fish sandwiches come out during Lent because so many Catholics, millions apparently, don't eat beef or chicken or pork for 40 days, so the fast food chains have to put out a fish option. For a non-Catholic that wasn't raised around Catholics, this is fascinating to me. It would seem to me that someone devout enough to "give something up for Lent" might better choose to give up fast food altogether for 40 days.

I tried the Popeyes spicy fish sandwich and found it to be disappointing as well. It was overly fishy and a bit thin and dry compared to the chicken.

Abstinence of meat on Fridays is obligatory during lent unless a Friday falls on a feast day and/or get special dispensation from the Bishop.

giving up something for lent is an entirely different animal than that.

How does this make sense to you? I am seriously confused.

I got that fish sandwich the other day. Likewise thought it was pretty crappy.

It was overly fishy

I've always just assumed this would be the case for any fish sandwich ordered from any fast food place.

I wasn’t surprised, but just thought I’d let others know since I’ve seen it recommended on here before
