R2R, if you don't like fast food and think other people have bad taste for liking it, say it loud and say it proud. People on this board are too touchy about crap. I happen to eat some fast food. If you don't like FF, it really doesn't bother me at all.

I originally came here to read ideas on cooking and restaurant reviews, but so many threads devolve into some pissing match between long-time posters and their tribe of supporters that it's tiring.

valid point. except that was a list of ingredients that make up Taco Bell's "beef". it's manufactured meat, as opposed to meat taken from a cow, ground up and cooked.

Actually, it is Taco Bell's beef mixture. Their beef is still just beef.

Hmmm, that might fit in the category of frozen chicken and Italian dressing. Not sure it would be foodboard approved.

I do.

That's because you have attributes such as confidence and self-awareness. It's the people who get so defensive about me voicing my opinions regarding fast food, junk food, BMC, etc. that are so transparent in their self-conscious feelings of knowing they are addicted to something that is inherently awful.

I used to be like this with smoking .. would get defensive about anyone who criticized it and let my cognitive dissonance lead me to try and justify it; sometimes by attacking the person and not the argument.

Hope it doesn't deter you from continuing to participate on this board.

It's fricking seasoned meat. Thinking you're some sort of grand epicurean food purist amisdst the unwashed masses here, by listing the ingredients, and saying 'oooooo, look how scary that is' just makes you look foolish to anyone who knows anything, I would think.

Oh, an appeal to semantics. Your argument is on shaky ground sir.

Sorry, but I just don't understand why people rush to defend fast food practices. If you want to eat it, fine. But please don't try and justify in the face of facts that what they're serving is on par with foods you can procure from a butcher or farm.

in terms of health or taste?

again, i don't know if fast food is anymore unhealthy than non-fast food. i'm amazed that you cling to this without the same evidence. it sounds almost religious, because it's based in faith

SAMs 30 patty box FTW.

Or so I hear, wouldn't set foot in a SAMs club personally. They have ready made shite there. And I stepped on a McDonalds fry box in there parking lot. Had to throw out my shoes and go on week long purge. Won't take that chance again.

When I first started visiting the F&D Board, there was a lot of what people now call "food snobbery" going on. I didn't mind it though. I feel like a message board for people who love food SHOULD have an aspect of food snobbery to it. I have no desire to sign onto a food message board and read about McDonalds or Kraft recipes.

It took the major turn to where it is now when Carson posted his infamous chicken thread. Everyone who was fed up with the "snobbery" flipped out when other people weren't feeling the thread/recipe. But screw that.. I don't sign onto my account to be told how to cook chicken in a skillet with italian dressing and Tony's. Do I eat easy shite like that at times? Sure. (Well not that, but easy stuff.. yeah). But I'm not posting my sandwich I had for lunch on here because I'm sure everyone on here can make a turkey sandwich. The food snobbery is okay to a certain extent IMO.

I eat fast food sometimes.. I still know it's not healthy and I certainly don't think it's really yummy.

Needs work. Remember, you entered a thread where:

quote:

He didn't post a list about the best breakfasts in the world, he posted about fast food breakfast in a thread that talked about fast food breakfasts.
