Has anyone tried to re-create the Flying Dutchman Burger from In-n-Out? It’s basically a cheeseburger that you replace the bun with 2 grilled onion slices. I’m not a huge onion fan so I was a bit hesitant. It’s messy as hell and falls apart fast. But this damn this is amazing.

(Not our pics. Just for reference.)

I would absolutely eat that but I would use a fork rather than try to pick it up.
If forks are unavailable and you have to pick it up then you never put it down once you do pick it up.

That looks damn good, baw!

It seems like the whole concept would make more sense if the onion was battered and fried.

That looks yummy, but if it doesn't have a bun, don't call it a burger.
A burger is a sandwich.
That's a hamburger steak with onion.

My daughter saw it on tik-tok we made it last week. It was awesome and pretty quick to make.

It has an onion bun. The hamburger is sandwiched between two slices of grilled onion.

Saw a guy make one of these but also used a bun around it. I’d prefer that

A little mental gymnastics there but do you. Call me crazy but a hamburger has a top and bottom bun and a hamburger patty in the middle. But that's just me.
