Liquor and the glassman's system don't mix. Beer and wine only. 4.00 for a Bud 12 ounce is robbery. I do see your point.

This is exactly why I pay cash at bars. I can't even count how many times I have heard of tabs ripping people off, be it the bartender or a barhopper who was listening too intently for a name to steal.
edit: I hope you get some money back. That's way too much to spend at Happy's.

It doesn't even matter what Brag would do because I'd be on their asses so fast, they wouldn't even know what hit them. I have no problem doing the dirty work when it comes to shite like this. I get worked up easily and will make their night a living hell if they don't do what I want

yea i was pissed. i just left before i did something stupid and get my arse either kicked or thrown out to the cops sitting outside

Yeah, shite like this is REALLY hard to deal with when you're drunk because they take that and run with it. They will blame everything on the fact that you're drunk.

yea i hear ya.
i asked zealot and AT today about the tab and they both said it was too high and the waitress was being shady as hell when she wouldnt give me an itemized receipt

If I ever open a tab...I tell the bartender...I am only ordering from you and only I can order drinks on my tab.
Bartenders are the biggest crooks...and I have bartender friends that will tell you that. I was at the Beau Rivage one time and they padded my tab and I was all alone. So the next night...I made the bartender print up my ticket everytime I ordered another beer. It annoyed the hell out of him but I had the right number of beers on my tab.
Bartenders are like rapists...they take advantage of the vulnerable. No way you can prove that you and your friends did not order that many drinks.
I went to a place another time...and they ran my credit card...and when I asked for an itemized receipt..the totals were different. If a bar tells you they can not provide you with an itemized receipt...they are fu/king you!

I used to be a manager at Happy's and I can tell you she was full of shite. They fricked up and didn't own up to it. That is what happens when you hire people without any experience and throw them behind a bar. Hell, it's not their money, right?

which is very easy to do on that system. some of those girls can be shady as shite if the manager is not around.

I will tell you another "Bartender" trick.
My brother-in-law was buying rounds of drink with cash...he ordered 5 beers at 3 dollars a piece. He left a $5 tip and paid with a $100 bill.
My sister watched the bartender...she gave him back $60 in change...in 10's, 5's, and 1's.
He put the $60 in his pocket...she put the $20 in her purse. He was drunk and was not going to count out his change. My sister did and got her fired!
At strange bars...I always total out my tip to the same number. Lets say I graduated high school in 1990...so I will total out my bill to $.90. So if my bill is $20...I will leave a $5.90 tip. So my total is $25.90.
It helps when you want to dispute it. A bartender adding money to there tip will usually round it to the nearest zero.

If I were you, I'd get in touch with Veach, he's the GM of downtown. He's a good guy and he's very reasonable. Just tell him what you told us and he'll find a way, most likely. If not, just contest it with your credit card company. Having worked there, I know how difficult it would be to run up a $200 bar tab with 3 guys drinking only beer with a few shots here and there. Basically, she was double-charging you b/c she saw that you were drunk and she knew you couldn't do anything about it.
And to the poster earlier talking about how 'we only serve doubles', bad service is right. I used to spend so much time quelling situations where patrons were just straight up pissed. I'm not talking 3 drinks into it, I'm talking ordering a crown and 7 and then at the bar politely asking the girls, I didn't order a double. That shite got old.
Did we ask them to upsell? Yes.
Did we say doubles are default? No.
they made my life a living hell. i'm telling you, those girls were shady.

no problem. let me know if you have any questions.
I'm just saying there is a reason I don't frequent Happy's anymore. They are really bad about that shite. We had to fire a couple of girls for straight up stealing from customers. They were lucky the police weren't involved. Overcharging was a way of life over there when I was there.
Good luck.
