Interesting. There are only a couple of places in N.O. that I really run a tab when doing serious drinking. And I assure you that neither of them have that computerized touch screen crap or have any intention of doing so. Well, actually one does have it but they never really print out receipts except for credit cards. I never even worry about the tab because I know I'm actually getting a break on the real price and I leave a really nice tip. Moral? Know your bars and know your bartenders. That's the way to go.

Same thing happened to me at Gallette's in Tuscaloosa. They also did not want to give me the printout, so I busted into the managers office and demanded one.
He tried to play it off, and I wouldn't budge, even told him if he gave me his password to the Micros i could teach him how to get a printout of a tab, as I used the same system in my restaurant.
Even asked me if I was sure I didn't drink that much. I said "Man, let's just take $90. That's 30 beers. You charged me for ten more than that. You really think I'd be standing up, much less talking to you, if I drank 40 beers in the span of three hours?
He then went and checked it, came back with a twenty dollar tab. Apparently there were three people with my last name and the bartenders were throwing all drinks on my tab.

i know SEVERAL people who have gotten over charged at Happys for their drinks everytime they use a card.
As a general rule, I never EVER use my card there just because of the amount of people I know that have been screwed over by them.
And if you try and argue with them they get you thrown out. They refuse to listen to you.

Agreed. We've never been overcharged (knock on wood) and even a few times been WAY undercharged. But pretty much go to the same places.
