Joe Jr $229
Classic 1 - $449

Joe Jr

Thats a great price. I just got a Jr. last week and did some wings on it Sunday. I can tell I will love that little thing. Great little grill!

Parents are getting me a Weber Genesis 2 for my wedding gift, kind of tempted to get this to have a charcoal grill/smoker. But I’m just not sure how much I would use it. Are they a hassle to use?

Not really. The KJ Jr takes about as long to heat up as my Weber Genesis 2. Obviously you cant cook as much food and there is a little learning curve. But the flavor is much better.

nice. Thanks for the PSA, I have been seriously eyeballing the Classic Joe for the last couple weeks on Walmart's site while it was priced at $670.

Just pulled the trigger, cannot pass it up at $450.

With this size, what’s the average amount of people you can cook for with it?

2-4. I would say it’s bigger than you think it is, but obviously not huge. I’ve seen people do like 2 rack of ribs, by rolling them. You can get creative and fit things on.

Smaller pork butts, chuck roasts, steaks, burgers, ect this thing will do with ease. I really got it for the quick weeknight cooks, reverse searing steaks, ect.

I missed the sale a couple weeks ago, but got it this time. And I think it's $20 cheaper this time. I have a blackstone and a pit barrel cooker, so I wanted to add this for smaller stuff and searing steaks/chops.

That is a phenomenal price! I bought that very grill in 2016 for $780, which was marked down from $1000. Enjoy it.

Two cooks on mine.

1 bad one 1 good

Messed up to thick steaks. Wife was suposed to being him typical walmart steak but ended up with cowboy ribeyes that were real thick and wasnt prepared to reverse sear. So they got overdone.

Did burgers and chicken patties today and they came out real good and juicy.

Gonna have to redeem myself with the steaks. Soon.

Really surprised how long the charcoal lasted today. Came outside just now and it was still holding tight at 350 despite not messing with it and not putting much of the shitty b&b charcoal in it at 12.

Wow, it looks like the sale is still going on.

Ive done wings twice, and did reverse seared cowboys last night. I do my wings hot and fast. thats the way ive always done them in the weber kettle. I did the same using the Jr and they came out great, however I learned you need to flip them halfway through. Second batch was much better.

The reverse sear on the cowboy came out great. I always pan finish my steaks.

SmokingDadBBQ (Youtube) has some great insights on how to get the Jr set up for different applications. Hope this helps.

I did a choice whole picanha from walmart and it came out great. Only thing i need to figure out is how to keep temp lower. Seemed that it just wouldnt go lower than 275 no matter what.

Really starting to like this thing. Did a couple of chicken breasts yesterday and they came out great. Wish i had sprung for the bigger one so I could smoke bigger items on it. Hopefully they go on sale again soon.

Gonna do another picanha i pulled out the freezer this week. Maybe a beer can chicken also just scooped up a holder that would fit in the jr.

Some people have been posting the Kamado Classic 1 prices at their local lowes for $374, so maybe check there.

Diat, I would recommend the Ash Basket as well on Kamado Joe's website. It works great. The wings I have been making come out fantastic off the Joe Jr. The little thing is a beast. I cant wait to unbox the BigJoe 3 I also just got.
