So I had someone bring me 4 links of smoked venison/wild hog pork sausage to work. It was frozen. I took it home in my bag yesterday at 1pm frozen but forgot to take it out of my bag until this am at 6 am. (bag was inside my house). The links were obviously completely defrosted and had the heavy smoke smell. I put in the fridge, but not sure if it is safe to pan sear/brown and use in a gumbo or otherwise or is it bad and needs to be thrown away...

what say you?

When in doubt throw it out. Not worth the bubble guts.

If it was smoked, it's already cooked. Brown a link and try it. The worse that will happen is you get projectile diarrhea...

Throw that shite out mang. It's only 4 links of free sausage.

Smoked sausage just left out over night?

That stuff is still good

ETA: if it was smoked then it was cured and cooked, if it's vacuum sealed there should be no issue. That was fairly normal in the days before refrigeration was easily accessible

I would agree.
I make my own smoked sausage and this would not be a problem to me.
If you are in doubt ask the person if it was cured and to what temp. did he smoke it.

If this is the case it's good to go.
