I have a foodsaver also. Works very well for me. I got mine from QVC, it seemed to be about the best deal on a foodsaver I could find.

I got a cheap FoodSaver model on sale at Walmart around Christmas last year and it works great.

Foodsaver. Skip the bags and go for the rolls so that you can custom make your own sizes. The cheapest rolls are on Amazon. I get the box of five with three 11" rolls and two 8" rolls.

ETA: LINK The amazon prices fluctuate, and right now the variety box is just over $26, which is just over five bucks a roll.

Yes, the rolls are much better than buying the bags. I wouldn't do this for meat, but for things like vegetables, I make the bags longer than needed so I can wash them and reuse them. For example, if you need a strip that's 6 inches of the roll, cut it at 12. Each time you cut it open you lose only an inch or so. So with a 12 inch strip you get can 6 or so uses out of it. If you cut it at the 6 inches you need, you would only get two uses out of the same amount of the roll. Again I wouldn't do that with meat, but it saves a lot when sealing other things.

Foodsaver Gamesaver line is what i have now after my original Foodsaver broke when the moisture shorted out the circuit. The Gamesaver line appears to be better,because the heating element was designed to ensure packing lots of bags repeatedly in one session. Also it doesn't waste as much of a bag when sealing compared to the ones that automatically turn on and grip the bags.

What's your budget?

If you have the scratch, the Ary VacMaster VP210 is hard to beat.

Like others have already mentioned====Foodsaver.

I just got done using mine to put up 16 boneless pork loin steaks about 1 inch thick and used the trimmings to make some pork fried rice tonight.

It works like a charm and is very easy to operate. I also used it last month to put up about 20 lbs. of pork sausage in Italian, Green Onion and Hot links.

Getting the air out of the packaging really helps it last longer in the freezer.
