Picked up 3- 3.5lb Lobster at Restaurant Depot. Planning to post pics each step of the way.

Going to fill pot with oregano, thyme, garlic & Salt and bring to a heavy boil. Planning to let them roll for 18 minutes unless I see they’re cooking too quick. Once shell begins lifting I’ll know.

Lobster

When lobster turns bright red it’s done. No need to predetermine a time. When they’re done they are done.

I cancelled our plans for tonight so I could stay glued to this thread for the in-game pics and all I got were two pics of a few overgrown Crawfish in a sink and a pot with some grass in it.

Color me disappointed.

Yeah, that's some big boys. I did some 1.5# Thursday night for an early Valentine, and we didn't even finish them. I did some that big a few hours ago. I literally had to go to the tool shed for hammer and chisel to get through those claw shells! Worth it, though. What'd you pay for those hogs?

“ How to Tell When Lobsters are Cooked:
Cooked lobsters will turn bright red, but that's not the best indicator of doneness, especially for large lobsters. Lobsters may still be underdone when the shell turns red. Cook the lobsters for the recommended time, then crack one open where the carapece meets the tail. If it's done, the meat will have changed from translucent to white.”

Shell color is not best indicator of doneness

I had to use a framing hammer to wedge my butchers knife into the claw shell!

I want to say they were 14.59/lb. I had almost 12 pounds.
