What are some different or non standard side dishes you make for Thanksgiving?
Looking for some ideas!

Is this the time to be unique? Most people want & appreciate traditional for turkey day. Usually, there are so many competing foods squashed onto one plate that ppl don’t even notice your riff on whatever.
If you want to go crazy, do it in the pre-meal. Dips, pass around apps, other nibbles that people graze on before they load their places w/turkey, ham, dressing, shrimp & mirliton, granny’s gumbo, and five kinds of pie.

Spin on standard.
I do an andouille cornbread dressing/stuffing every other year. Not sure why I rotate years but I do.
Emeril has a recipe that is good and I have slightly altered.

savory bread pudding (not a dessert)
Interesting. I'm thinking of doing something very similar. A leek and artichoke heart bread pudding recipe that I got from watching Ina Garten.

I just do small twists like green bean and artichoke casserole and then sage sausage and apple stuffing.
But I usually do some non traditional stuff for the football watching/cooking time before supper. Like deer backstrap poppers and whatnot.

At work, someone brought velveeta shells and cheese and I was stoked!! I put a big old spoonful on my plate and went about my business. When I sat down and took a bite, it was sweet!!! Some retard put sugar in the shells and cheese! Who does that?
Moral of the story, don’t do it. Just make the traditional sides for this meal because that is what people want/expect.
