I'm not a big mashed potato fan, but I bought Bob Evans recently to add to a meal for my Mom. I had a backup in case they were bad. Tasted them before cooking them. I was shocked at the quality. I added a little sour cream, green onions and cheese for Mom’s preference. I’m sold. Great product.

Yes, Bob Evans stuff is pretty good. Particularly the mashed potatoes, plus mac & cheese.

How about in the crock pot or an Instapot?

Beans, cornbread, roast, etc.

They have all kind of frozen stuff for people who are trying to lose weight or eat healthy …at least the think they are…
What about the older stay at home people who are trying to keep their weight or gain weight…..

Yep, if he's still active at 94, his genes have taken over. Like the dad in Grumpy Old Men, he could live on bacon and beer if he wanted to.

I don't believe the point was that his dad is asking to eat microwave dinners. I think the point is looking for ways for him to still be in charge of most of his own meals in a safer way. My dad is 93, and while he isn't a picky eater, he does still like what he considers "good food". For instance, he doesn't prefer any kind of casserole, really. They just didn't get to their 90s eating "instant food". I don't think most people that age would eat very well if the majority of their food was frozen dinners. keeping up their appetite and nutrition can be a challenge at that age.

Someone here actually told me to try them. I would have never purchased them. But now it is a solid plan if I am having a physically challenging day with a roast in the crockpot.
