Used to hit up one in West L.A. all the time when I lived out there. Surprisingly good inexpensive wine, deli items, specialty foods, etc. I think the hype has made expectations unreasonable. It's fun and has a few things I haven't found anywhere else.
I'm skeptical, however, about it opening in the WHD. I've been hearing that kind of thing for years. If it does, great.

Yeah but I got laid off so I went at like 2 in the afternoon as I figured it wouldn't be busy and I live a block away.

I do think it would serve that area well, its suited for urban living an I'd welcome it as an addition to full service rouses in that area.

Agreed. They actually have some specific trail mixes, olives, dried fruits, etc, that I'd buy weekly. Thoroughly drinkable bottles of inexpensive table wines. Cheeses. A few unusual frozen items.

decent prices on fruit.. (beats the hell out of Kroger)
I picked up some nut mixes and they were really good (especially the wasabi one)
$6/lb for in-shell pistachios is pretty much the best price anywhere
but yeah, Shepherd is a clusterfrick so I won't be going there often.

The way they have the registers set up is fricking perplexing.

Damn, bruh, I'm just coming across this information.
What is America turning into when firms lay off kfizzle85? What hope is there for the rest of us?

I live less than a mile from one here in Does Moines. They have great prices on most of their stuff. I usually go for wine, cheese, and vegetables. They also have a great selection of different kinds of packaged nuts. They have meats and stuff, steaks are a little more than at a regular grocery store but they have some great packaged and marinated pork loins and beef roasts that are cheap and really good
