see i don't think he did. the obvious tension was that sara couldn't "take orders" from justin. that's what it really boiled down to.
he got flustered. should have stopped trying to argue with Sara, who's a complete dumbass, and just taken care of it himself with the servers.

The other team set their egos aside and let the philly guy take the lead, and it worked perfectly. Sara was the de facto cancer on that team. They didn't really have a good cheery front person. All of those people were the top notch chefs, but lack in the super friendly chatty aspect.
she also tried to sabotage the rest of the chefs by not giving the judges descriptions of their dishes but of course talking up her dessert with not prompt necessary. what a bitch

Yeah. I had the unfortunate yet amusing experience of eating at Luke once and being seated in the back right in front of the glass-windowed kitchen. Tons of yelling, pouting, insubordination, cursing, slamming things around. Looked like a bunch of undisciplined grade schoolers.

Did you order chicken strips again at Luke?
I'm just glad Justin lives to cook another day, but he better start making more memorable plates.

The kitchen can be a very hostile/hetic environment when you are in the weeds or having issues. I appreciate what they do a lot more being that I experienced some of it running my own restaurant (although not on their scale or fine dining). The fact that they had to do this in 24 hours is insane to me. No real time for training or communication. Sucks that they have to rely on workers (servers) that they have no relationship with and never hired/trained properly.

From Gris Gris' link...
One thing you can count on with reality shows is how they edit the shows to make villains when in reality(pun intended) they are probably some of the nicest people in the cast.

I am very happy that my elimination allowed my amazing teammates Justin, Shirley, Carlos and Nina to continue their journey. I wish them nothing but luck in the competition. They had so much more to say in the competition. They are extremely talented. Good Luck Guys!!!! And thank you everyone. It was a lot of fun. -s

Spot on.
Justin and Sara hugged it out. Didn't seem like any true ill will.
The right person went home.

kind of hard to edit Sara's attitude to the judges at the judges table though

I thought that exact thing when I read her FB post along with how she was in the restaurant.

yeah, I'm sure she wrote that and not her public relations / management / publicity team.
jesus, how can you not see through that spin?

I just got a chance to watch.
Dang some of you guys and especially gals (
) are homers.
The right person went home because her dish sucked worse than Justin's. The guy sucked in every aspect of the game this week. And he's a douche.

Anyone catch the episode last night?
Liked the idea of doing your favorite "home" meal.
Justin's dish looked good but they didn't seem to like it. Looks like it could have used a little more gravy maybe.

Justin skates by again. I feel his time on Top Chef is coming to an end very soon(not final group).
I thought Nina's curry dish looked superb as did the winning gnocchi dish.
I really wanted Carlos to win, his dish looked great.

Glad Justim hung in there. I was surprised at the way the dish looked. Not juicy enough for me. Also surprised by the lack of flavor comment.
This episode made me hungry. I want Nick's pasta.
ETA: did I miss Justin's dish in the first round. I don't recall seeing him other than in the background of that segment. I don't know what he made.

Agree. Third week in a row they have classified his meat as dry. He doesn't take their critique. He thinks every dish he makes is great.
I liked Carlos' dish as well.
I thought it was cruddy that Shirley won the Quickfire. Coffee encrusted filet. C'mon. That's the first thing I thought of, meaning no creativity at all. And I can get that at multiple restaurants here.

I thought the crepes were going to win the first round. The crusted tenderloin surprised me, also.

It seems like the garlic puree is what Hubert Keller thought was creative.

Yes you are right.
But still....
If I thought of it, it can't be all that.
