Tilted Kilt in Gonzales Reopened?

Was it my imagination, or weren't they closed a few months ago, now reopened?
I saw a billboard that said something like "we're back." Odd to see a place like that go for a while, then come back.
Anyone know the story?

Yup...and probably still the same terrible food and unattractive waitresses.
ETA: Apparently corporate took over to re-open when the franchisee failed in under a year....after franchisee paid a $750k franchise fee just to open.

To each his own, but I'd rather any number of other places in the area, including Jack in the box, before going back there.

Damn. Hope it was just someone's "play" money.

I don't know if it had to be paid upfront or could be worked off over X number of months/years, but I do know that was the franchising fee.

I love this story. I (regrettably) was In there three or four weeks after they opened. It was one of the singularly worst dining experiences ever. I was ranting to my tablemates on the litany of catastrophic failures of the lunch hour when finally the guy at the next table stood up, grabbed the check off the table, announced “I own this place!” and went into the kitchen and just started screaming at the staff.
We waited a bit and then just left.

That is awesome. Should be a scene in a movie. Vince Vaughn plays the owner. Larry David is the complaining customer.

I was dragged there the first weekend they opened because I was in the area for work and I think LSU was in regionals or something. Other than slow service it wasn't bad. They def. had their out of town talent in there to help with the opening.
Went again a little bit later and it was a shitshow. Bad service, food took forever, they were out of fries and some other staple item, etc. I could hear people yelling in the kitchen.
